Do It Yourself Home Repair Shows

[This is an archived post from the previous EIA forum.]

Seems it started with "This Old House". At least ole Bob mentioned asbestos and lead paint a couple times a year.

But -

Today there are dozens of television and radio shows dealing with the Do It Yourselfers and household renovations and flips.

Why don't I hear the shows mention household environmental hazards such as asbestos or lead. At a minimum a warning could be scrolled across the screen.

There seems to be an opportunity to educate the producers of these shows to at least give the consumers a minimum awareness of properly checking for these compounds before "tearing" into a household renovation?

Comments or thoughts?

I agree, this has been an ongoing problem for years.  I would add the home repair columns in newspapers to the list.

in the past, our State Health Department (Vermont) has had a booth at the local "home show" to try to get the word out.

Re: Do It Yourself Home Repair Shows

Hi, You can select paints which can suit the home overall color tone and for interior highlighting, it would be better to chose colors which are in contrast but at the same time, matching too. Select some stylish kitchen faucets such as Price Pfister, Moen, Delta Faucets, and that can make your kitchen look more futuristic and esthetically superior. Cheers!

The use of stucco and fiberglass mesh are very popular on all home and building construction.

Re: Do It Yourself Home Repair Shows

I’m not quite sure about what is the best show to stick with, is it better to consider about international shows before look in to local?
